Here, I celebrate and affirm your love no matter what your love looks like. I know the wedding industry was built on a foundation of whiteness, thinness, and cisheteronormativity.
Scenes from Isolation in New Orleans French Quarter
Spring is my favorite time of the year in New Orleans. Our streets fill with festival-goers form around the world. Our trees and our flowers bloom in this short window before it gets ungodly hot. The air smells of fragrant jasmine, magnolias, and the spoils from last nights party on bourbon street. It’s a sickly sweet smell I know well from spending years walking my dog early in the morning before the street cleaners come through. Now, the french quarter is in isolation. The calm, empty, sweet floral smelling streets are equally beautiful and jarring.
I have only been leaving my house once a day to walk my dog Maybelle and today I brought my camera. This is what I saw.
