Sadie and Tyler traveled from New Mexico to Louisiana to get married and brought me along as a New Orleans wedding photographer. They chose to have a starlight lounge wedding because of the divey bar vibe fit their aesthetic and vision for the day.

When I arrived, Sadie was prepping for the day. As soon as I saw her I gave her a hug and said:

“Oh man, I am sorry it’s so rainy today, I promise we can still get great photos today and I brought my clear umbrella!”

to which Sadie replied, “Oh no, we are rain people, I love this.”

From that moment I knew we would be getting along perfectly. Sadie and Tyler wanted to have a wedding with a spooky vibe and a bit of Halloween as they got married just a few days before the holiday. They chose to get married in a tiny bar in the middle of the French Quarter with just their closest friends and family. Latoya from Waning Moon Weddings officiated and brought a personal touch to the ceremony. Their rings were in coffins the couple decorated themself. The bouquets, made by a friend, were adorned with little bugs. The whole wedding was filled with tiny little details that made everything feel special and so specifically “Sadie and Tyler.”

After the ceremony friends shared drinks (and shots of tequila) while dancing and catching up. For a while it was POURING rain so we stayed inside. As soon as it lighted to a softer rain, Sadie, Tyler and I headed out to take portraits. By the time we were done, we were all soaking wet but It was well worth it don’t you think?

Note: When editing, I often do a black and white version of the photo in addition to the color version. For this wedding, The B&W images gave me the feeling and vibe of the day resulting in this blog post having more B&W than my typical very colorful work. For me, this is the best way to portray how this wedding felt.
