Here, I celebrate and affirm your love no matter what your love looks like. I know the wedding industry was built on a foundation of whiteness, thinness, and cisheteronormativity.

I'm Tia
Over the last year, I have had the honor of helping to plan and then capturing 15 surprise proposals. Here of a few of the best New Orleans proposals!
When photographing surprise proposals, I always chat a bit with the person proposing before the big day. We spend time making sure we have all the details in place and I usually end up drawing a map and creating a diagram to make sure we get everything justttt right. Here is an example from a 2018 proposal.
Looking through all of my surprise proposals from the last two years, one thing really rang clear to me. There is no wrong way or right way to propose to your significant other. Each of these was so perfectly aligned with each of the couples and so individual to them. If you want to propose tucked away on a quiet street, under a beautiful tree, or in one of the busiest locations in New Orleans, they are all beautiful and perfect. Take a look with me at some of my favorites and the best New Orleans Proposals
These two were headed out on a cruise leaving from New Orleans
He told her they were headed to his work holiday party so she had to look nice! On the way to the party, they stopped to take a selfie above Jackson square where I was waiting for their arrival. She said yes and everyone around cheered!
These two wanted a sweet intimate propose tucked away from the crowds and opted out of getting down on one knee, something that is super common with me LGBTQ couples!
This proposal was set to happen in City Park, but when rain last minute changed our plans, we pulled off this proposal at Coliseum park with an engagement session on the magazine after! See their full blog post here.
Quinn wanted something that felt SUPER New Orleans, as these two were traveling from Boston. But he also wanted something quiet and away from the crowd. We settled on Exchange place as a perfect New Orleans alleyway for the proposal!
Nick and Candice were traveling from Atlanta to New Orleans and he wanted to propose with this iconic New Orleans backdrop. She has NO idea what he was doing when he brought here up there! See their full blog post here.
Samyr and Ellie had a super fun proposal that was pulled off with the help of friends! This proposal was one of my most emotionally packed proposals I have ever photographed!
