Paige and Mark decided to travel from Houston to New Orleans for a destination wedding and brought me along as their New Orleans wedding Photographer. We started the day at Jackson Square which was packed with tourists watching a man juggle swords on top of a double tall unicycle. The atmosphere was nervous and excited about the wedding that was about to begin. Paige and Mark chose to do the first look at the end of the aisle with him standing backward and her tapping his shoulder. The ceremony was short and full of tears, and easily a hundred tourists gathered to watch the two share their vows.
After the ceremony, we wandered around the French Quarter taking portraits that captured the architecture and feel of New Orleans. One of my favorite things about photographing newly married couples in the French Quarter is how excited everyone is to see the bride and groom. As we walked around, every block someone stopped us to congratulate them, tell Paige how beautiful she looked, and bask in their newly married love. After portraits, we stopped for a quick drink at Meauxbar before heading to the reception at Coquette.
The couple chose to skip a first dance, and instead to a private last dance while their friends prepared for the streamer exit. Afterward, everyone headed to goldmine for a night of divey dancing and flaming doctor pepper shots.
