I stand to change that. Join me.
Here, I celebrate and affirm your love no matter what your love looks like. I know the wedding industry was built on a foundation of whiteness, thinness, and cisheteronormativity.

I arrived at Laura and Brandon’s Degas House wedding as everyone was buzzing about getting ready. Laura was in the bridal suite, listening to Frank Ocean and enjoying some cheese and champagne while wearing cute striped PJs. The atmosphere was casual, and everyone was excited for the wedding. I quickly swept up the details and headed to the beautiful covered porch to photograph Laura’s details with the historic oaks.
Laura and Brandon are an easy-going laid back couple who lives in the Bay area. They chose a New Orleans destination wedding because they love the music and the vibe of the city. They decided to have a Degas House wedding because they fell in love with the oak-lined street and romantic courtyard.
The ceremony was officiated by Michelle Zeller, and everyone walked down the aisle to live music performed by Sierra Green and the Soul Machine. Every wedding has a funny little moment. While everyone was walking down the aisle, the two flower girls got shy and made a panicked run to the front of the altar, haphazardly throwing petals around! Everyone got a good laugh, and the two girls found their parents to calm down.
As soon as Laura walked out, everything stood still for a second. Brandon couldn’t stop smiling.
The ceremony was short and sweet with laughs and tears around the crowd. As soon as the ceremony was finished (and the marriage license was signed!), we took to the streets with the Kinfolk Brass Band leading a second line.
Laura and Brandon’s first dance was a live rendition of a Leon Bridges song which set the mood for an intimate and romantic evening.
